Ririkku got up bright and early that morning the sun was barely beginning to show in the horizon. She was in the mood for a quick swim before she had to begin her duties as leader of Dragon Tooth Island. She and her younger siblings Briar, Tula and Daray shared a den. They had still been asleep when she had quietly left the den and flew out into the abyss. She quickly scaled the walls of the abyss enjoying the climb instead of just quickly flying out. Once at the top she stopped and let out a sigh. Her island was a beautiful place and so peaceful.
As she stood at the top of the Dragon's Tooth she scanned the island for any trouble. She was glad to see a Sentinel flying high above the nest's entry keeping an eye out. And she could see a few other Sentinels patrolling farther out. Soon the shift's would be changing and these dragons would be going to sleep and the day Sentinel's would be coming out. With one last look she jumped off the fang and swooped down and around to where the fall's where. Folding her wings in she dropped the last twenty feet into the deep pool at the bottom of the falls. She swam under water for a while before finally coming up for air. Riku climbed up onto a large flat rock to dry off. Once the sun became high in the sky this rock would heat up quite nicely and become a great heating rock for the elder's to relax on. Even though the sun hadn't touched the rock for many hours it was still warm from the sun the day before.

As the dragon relaxed and scanned her land she would notice an odd occurrence; a large portion of the fish were belly up in the waters. Nothing about the water seemed odd; but something had caused the fish to die off quickly during the night. ~

Ririkku's eyes widened as she began to notice the fish in the pool of water below the falls where all dead. One of they're sources of food was now in danger. But what could have caused so many fish to die so quickly over night? Everything was fine the night before she had checked. She always patrolled the island before going to bed to make sure all was well.
Pushing herself off the sunning rock she lowered her head to the water and flicked her tongue out to see if it tasted odd. It tasted terrible but that was probably from all the dead and rotting fish. She gave her head a shake, she would have to make sure she kept all dragons away from the falls until the problem was solved. Spreading her wings Riku leaped into the air and flew for the top of the falls and again flicked her tongue out to taste the water at the top to see if it tasted any different. It did, it tasted fresh and fine. So what ever the problem was it was coming from the pool. Tucking her wings in she dived down into the pool to search for something, anything that would cause the fish to die.

Aodhan was a long way from home. However, he did miss the warmth of the South. He grew up in Bloodspit Bay after all. The cold weather of the Polar Caves was a bit strange for him, but he got use to it. So he took off for a bit to remember what hot summers use to be like. It had been a long time flying, and he could use a rest and maybe something to eat.
He descends to the top of the island, and looks down toward the falls. He sees another dragon down there, and just as he is about to greet the dragon, he notices all the dead fish in the water. So does the Monstrous Nightmare as she dives into the water. He frowns and flies cautiously toward the rock that the other dragon was on, avoiding the water.
He reaches a claw into the water, grabs a fish, and drags it onto the rock. He sniffs the fish to see if there is anything wrong with it.

Ririkku swam through the water looking for anything that might have killed all the fish off. She swam for what felt like forever with no success at finding what had killed one of her nest's food source's. She was infuriated, she would have to clean all the dead fish out and have to keep her clan from the pool until she was sure it was safe to swim, drink and eat in again. Riku quickly headed back to the surface and burst from the water and into the air heading straight for her rock but stopped mid air. There was another dragon standing on it.
She hovered in the air for a few minutes dumbfounded for she had never seen this dragon before. Finally she landed on another rock next to the Windwalker. "Greeting's, and welcome to Dragon Tooth Island where my nest resides. I am Ririkku the leader and the great granddaughter of the creators of the nest. May I ask what brings you here Windwalker?"

Aodhan steps back from the fish as the Monstrous Nightmare rises out of the island. “Hail!” he says, before dropping into a bow. “I'm Aodhan Blufeather from the Polar Caves. I came to see the warmth of summer before the season ended. I was looking for a place to rest from the long trip.” He gets up and looks at the water, “However, it seems that some strangeness is happening here… I don’t imagine the fish here swim sideways. Is there anything I can assist you with?” Aodhan feels strange offering his assistance. However, he should be nice in a strange nest, and there did seem to be something foul afoot.

Ririkku would start to feel ill; for when she tasted the water she ingested tainted water. Whether the effects would worsen or not remains to be seen. ~

Riku smiled at his politeness. It wasn't every day one bowed to her. But that was probably because most everyone knew her here and watched her grow up from a hatchling unless they joined recently. "Rise, Aodhan Bluefeather. You may stay and rest here we have plenty of food besides the fish. We have a guest nest in the abyss if you wish to rest after your long flight."
She turned to look at the water and sighed, "Any help would be appreciative. Yesterday all was fine and now this morning something foul is definitely a foot. I wish I knew what could have caused this so I could fix it. But for now I'll have to set a Sentinel here to keep the hatchlings out of the water. The water at the top of the falls is still fresh it's just the pool that has been messed with."

With an open-mouthed smile, Aodhan says, “Thank you for your hospitality, my lady. I appreciate it. However, I wouldn’t want to be a burden. I can go hunting elsewhere as your nest resolves this problem.” He walks closer to the pool of water. “It looks fine from above. No algae. No strange smell. The fish don’t look strange besides being dead. I’ve never seen anything like this before really.” He shakes his head. “Did it rain recently? Maybe the foulness came from higher up and ran down into the pool.” Lord Wintercross could solve this issue if he was here. The Lord of the Polar Caves was far more intelligent that he was.

Ririkku shook her head and laughed, "it's no burden, no burden at all. We have all the woods for food. And we could use a fresh eye to help figure out why the fish all died." She fallowed him to looking at the water. "Yes it rains here allot but the rain has never caused a problem before. So I can't imagine it would cause a problem now. Besides the water at the top of the falls seems to be perfectly fine."
This was so confusing hopefully they could figure this out than prevent it from ever happening again. Fish besides deer and the other animals they hunted in the forest was they're main source of food. And even if it wasn't the swimming whole was a favorite place for swimming.

”RIRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!
A flaming ball came out from the brush; rolling in a chaotic mass of flailing limbs and claws. Before hitting the backside of the leader of the Dragontooth Nest, the flames subsided leaving a steaming young Monstrous nightmare with large wide yellow eyes. She looked up at her older sister with an apologetic grin.
”Riri! On the other side of the island the…whoa”
She rolled back over to her feet and looked up at the large new comer, her neck straining to look up at him.
”Your big…Who are you? You smell funny, your not from around here are ya; what makes you so blue and YOU HAVE FEATHERS can I have one? Riri why don’t we have feathers?”

Aodhan looks down at the water, intense in though, before shaking his head. “I have no clue then what that might be. How far does the pool go down? Is there another way for water to flow into the pool?” he asks.
The small dragon on fire makes him jump back a bit. However, he smiles at the energetic dragon. “I am Aodhan Blufeather from the Polar Caves, and just wanted to feel sunshine in the summer again.” He spreads his own wings and looks at them a bit. “I don’t know how I got this color. Just born with it.” Carefully, he plucks a few feathers before handing it to the smaller Monstrous Nightmare. “Here, you go.”

Riku was about to reply to Aodhan when out of no where her baby sister appeared in a blaze of fire startling the stranger. She tried to give Tula a stern look but couldn't help but laugh. "Aodhan this is my baby sister Tula."The love she held in her eyes when she looked at Tula gave away how much she cared about her youngest sister. But she tried to bury it for the moment. " shouldn't you be with your mentor training? If you insist in hanging with me maybe you can be of some help. Start cleaning out the dead fish and pile them to the side. We'll bury them later. Lets see if you can use that energy for something useful. She gave her sister a gentle nudge than turned back to Aodhan. "No the waterfall is the only source of water going into the pool. Than there is a stream leaving it that empties out into the ocean."

Her eyes widen as the feather was handed to her; she stood on her hind legs and took it in-between her to clawed wings. Holding it up with awe; she squealed in excitement and then POOF…it went up into smoldering flames. She let out and eep and dunked it into water; it was burnt on the edges but relatively fine. When her sister shooed her off to go bury fish she pouted and went to go bury them…but stopped and turned suddenly remembering why she came here in the first place.
”My mentor sent me here! There’s something wrong over there some of the feed animals are stiff and cold. They died over nigh for some odd reason…they don’t smell funny and didn’t seem sick but they’re dead as stone this morning. Maybe that’s why all the fish are dead to….”

“A pleasure to meet you, Tula,” Aodhan says. He doesn’t think he was ever so full of energy even at a younger age. The young dragon spoke a mile a minute, but it was endearing even if it took some effort to follow her words. And he is reminded of when he used to skip out on training when he was in his nest. However, that was to sleep.
Aodhan frowns at the revelation about the other animals on the island. The oddness wasn’t just contained to this small pool, it seemed. “Land and water both seem to have whatever this is then. I can’t think of a single thing that would cause animals in the water and on land to both fall over dead.”
